Shipping & Delivery Policy

At SWEETVELD, we carefully prepare every order before it begins its journey to you. Our leather goods are crafted to be enjoyed for years, and we take care to ensure that your order is securely packaged and delivered safely.

This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how orders are processed and delivered within South Africa.

Important: Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or any other applicable South African law.

1. Delivery Timeframe

SWEETVELD orders are generally delivered within 8–11 business days from the date your order is successfully placed and payment has been received.

Business days are Monday to Friday and exclude South African public holidays.

The 8–11 business day timeframe is an estimated delivery period and may be affected by circumstances outside of SWEETVELD's reasonable control, including courier delays, adverse weather, public holidays, strikes, service interruptions or other unforeseen circumstances.

We will, however, make reasonable efforts to ensure that your order reaches you within the stated timeframe.

2. Order Processing

Once your order has been successfully placed and payment has been confirmed, we will begin preparing your order for dispatch.

Orders are processed during normal business days.

Please note that the 8–11 business day timeframe includes the period required to process, prepare and deliver your order, unless otherwise stated on the product page or at checkout.

If there is an unexpected delay in fulfilling your order, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.

3. Shipping Within South Africa

SWEETVELD currently offers delivery within South Africa.

Delivery is made to the address provided by the customer during checkout.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their delivery information is complete and accurate, including:

  • Full name;
  • Street address;
  • Suburb;
  • City or town;
  • Postal code;
  • Contact telephone number; and
  • Any relevant delivery instructions.

4. Shipping Costs

Applicable shipping costs will be displayed at checkout before the order is completed.

Where free shipping is offered as part of a promotion, the terms and conditions of that promotion will apply.

SWEETVELD reserves the right to change shipping charges from time to time. Any applicable shipping cost will be clearly displayed before the customer completes the purchase.

5. Tracking

Where a tracking number is available, it will be provided to the customer once the order has been dispatched.

Customers may use the tracking information supplied to monitor the progress of their delivery.

Please note that tracking information may take some time to become active after the parcel has been collected by the courier.

6. Delivery Address

SWEETVELD will deliver orders to the address supplied by the customer during checkout.

Customers are responsible for providing a correct and complete delivery address.

If an incorrect or incomplete address is provided and the courier is unable to complete delivery, additional delivery charges may apply if the parcel needs to be redirected or re-delivered, subject to applicable law.

If you realise that you have entered an incorrect delivery address, please contact SWEETVELD as soon as possible.

We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once an order has already been dispatched.

7. Failed Delivery Attempts

If the courier attempts delivery and nobody is available to receive the parcel, the courier may make an additional delivery attempt or contact the customer to arrange delivery, depending on the courier's procedures.

Customers should ensure that the contact details supplied at checkout are accurate and that someone is reasonably available to receive the order.

Where a parcel is returned to SWEETVELD because the customer was unavailable, provided an incorrect address, or failed to respond to courier communications, additional delivery costs may apply for re-delivery, subject to applicable law.

This does not limit any statutory consumer rights.

8. Delays

Although our standard delivery timeframe is 8–11 business days, delivery times may occasionally be affected by circumstances outside SWEETVELD's reasonable control.

These may include:

  • Courier delays;
  • Severe weather;
  • Road closures;
  • Public holidays;
  • Strikes or industrial action;
  • High-volume periods;
  • Natural disasters;
  • Technical or logistical disruptions;
  • Incorrect or incomplete delivery information; or
  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If we become aware of a significant delay affecting your order, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate the delay to you.

Where applicable law provides a consumer with a right to cancel because an order has not been delivered within an agreed or legally applicable period, that right will not be limited by this policy.

9. Orders That Have Not Arrived

If your order has not arrived within the expected 8–11 business day timeframe, please contact us so that we can investigate the delivery.

Please provide:

  • Your order number;
  • Your full name;
  • Your delivery address; and
  • Your tracking number, if available.

We will liaise with the relevant courier where necessary and make reasonable efforts to locate the parcel.

If an order is confirmed to have been lost in transit, SWEETVELD will take the appropriate steps to resolve the matter in accordance with applicable South African law.

10. Damaged Packaging or Goods

Please inspect your parcel when it arrives.

If the outer packaging appears significantly damaged, please take photographs of the parcel and its packaging before opening it where reasonably possible.

If the product itself appears to have been damaged during delivery, please contact SWEETVELD as soon as reasonably possible and provide photographs of:

  • The product;
  • The outer packaging;
  • Any visible damage; and
  • The shipping label.

We will assess the matter and provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights relating to defective or damaged goods.

11. Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is different from the item you ordered, please contact SWEETVELD as soon as possible.

Please provide your order number and photographs of the product received.

If the incorrect item was supplied by SWEETVELD, we will work with you to arrange the appropriate return and delivery of the correct item, subject to applicable law.

12. International Shipping

SWEETVELD currently ships within South Africa only unless otherwise specifically stated on our website.

If international shipping becomes available, additional terms relating to international delivery, customs duties, taxes and import requirements may apply.

13. Customs, Duties and Taxes

For deliveries within South Africa, applicable taxes and delivery charges will be displayed as required before the customer completes the transaction.

If SWEETVELD introduces international shipping in the future, the customer may be responsible for applicable customs duties, import taxes, clearance charges or other fees imposed by the destination country, unless otherwise expressly stated.

14. Delivery and Consumer Rights

SWEETVELD is committed to complying with applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

For electronic transactions, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires suppliers to provide consumers with information regarding the period within which goods will be dispatched or delivered. The Act also provides certain rights where an order is not executed within the agreed period.

Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, consumers also have statutory rights relating to the delivery of goods, including rights where goods are delivered at a location, date or time different from what was agreed.

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Delivery Risk

SWEETVELD will take reasonable steps to ensure that orders are appropriately packaged and handed to the designated delivery service.

Where applicable South African law provides that goods remain at the supplier's risk until the consumer has accepted delivery, SWEETVELD will comply with those requirements.

Customers should contact us promptly if an order arrives damaged, incomplete or materially different from what was ordered.

17. Changes to This Policy

The latest version will be made available on our website.

Any change will not affect an order that has already been placed where doing so would unlawfully remove or limit a consumer's rights.
